Arien Entertainment is pleased to announce that acclaimed US actor David Heavener has been signed to play the lead role in its feature film project The Big Deal. Negotiations for North American distribution rights are also under discussion. Agreement has been reached with Sovereign Films of Melbourne to enter into co-production negotiations for the making of The Big Deal. Mr Heavener has also expressed interest in several other Arien Entertainment projects and it is expected that letters of intent will be forthcoming.

This project has received a huge boost when it was announced recently, following a series of meetings, that the University of Western Australia and the Fremantle Maritime Museum have given their support to this project. Preliminary talks have also taken place with the Dutch government and expectations are high that this film will be further developed with the co-operation of these bodies and also the Western Australian Government. Although development is still going on with this project, progress is slow due to the large amount of research necessary and the amount of correspondence involved relating to discussions with Dutch authorities and historians.
Discussions are continuing with a Dutch production company with a view to a possible co-production deal.
